How to apply

We’re delighted you’re interested in applying for a course at Stafford College!

Applying for full-time courses

Step 1

  • Search for a course or browse our list of courses to find a course that you would like to apply for.
  • Click on the course you want to apply for.
  • Click the orange apply button at the bottom of the course page
  • Complete the application form and click submit!

Alternatively download our application form, complete it and return it to: RSSX-JSZT-BLGC Earl St, Stafford, ST16 2QR .

You should apply for a place between 1 October and 31 March.  Applications received after this date will still be considered but course places will be limited.

Step 2

We’ll contact you to invite your for an interview where you will meet our tutors and talk to them about the course to make sure it’s right for you.  You’ll then be offered a conditional place with us subject to your GCSE results.

Step 3

You must confirm your place on the course.  You can do this by completing the online form, completing the form you were given in your interview or by calling us on 01785 223800.  Once you’ve accepted your place on the course, we’ll invite you to a Stafford College Experience event in June where you will find out more about life at Stafford College and meet people on your course.

Applying for an apprenticeship

You can apply for advertised apprenticeship vacancies with employers or apply for an apprenticeship and then find yourself an employer.  Search for an apprenticeship or browse our list of courses to find an apprenticeship that you want to apply for.

Applying/enrolling for a part-time course

Some of our part-time courses require you to complete an application form and, in some instances, attend an interview, but for other part-time courses you can enrol straight away either in person or via this website. Details of how to apply can be found for each course by using our Course Finder.

Before your enrolment can be accepted you will need to pay your fee as listed in the course information. You can pay by cash, cheque or credit/debit card, and for any course with a fee higher than £150 you can pay by instalments – just ask when you enrol.

Some courses require an interview. For these courses, you can apply online. Alternatively, you can download a part-time application form (link at the bottom of the page) and post it to: RSSX-JSZT-BLGC Earl St, Stafford, ST16 2QR . We will then arrange a short interview for you.

Applying for university courses

Courses run in Partnership with Staffordshire University

Applications for full-time Foundation degrees (Fds), Higher National Certificates/Diplomas (HNC/Ds) and Foundation Years run in partnership with Staffordshire University should be made via the University and Colleges Admissions Service (UCAS) - www.ucas.com.  Applications for part-time Foundation degrees (Fds), Higher National Certificates/Diplomas (HNC/Ds) can be made by clicking 'Apply' in the relevant course.

Courses run by Stafford College

For other higher level courses you can apply online. Details of how to apply can be found by searching for a course or browsing our list of courses.

Applying for an Access to HE course

Step 1 – Apply online for the Access to HE course.

Step 2 – Attend the introductory assessment session, bringing with you all qualifications that you currently hold.

Step 3 – Enrol on to a Return to Learn course (whole course is 15 hours).

Step 4 – If you successfully complete the Return to Learn course you will be invited to progress on to the Access to HE course.
