Skills for Tomorrow

The Skills for Tomorrow team are based at the Earl Street Campus at Stafford College and provide specialist 1:1 Support, Career Advice and Guidance for Unemployed Adults. The Skills for Tomorrow Centre contains Jobsearch facilities where Jobseekers can come and update their CVs and apply for work with the support of specialist advisors

What does Skills for Tomorrow offer?

• 1:1 Support, Career Advice and Guidance
• Training Needs Analysis
• Development of Individual Learning Plan
• Skills for Life Assessment
• Accredited and Non Accredited Learning Opportunities
• Employability Training
• Vocational Training
• Maths, English and ICT Functional Skills
• The opportunity to gain ‘up to date’ work experience through a work placement

Current Programmes:

The Skills Support for Redundancy Programme is for adults (18+) who have been made redundant in the last 6 months or are at risk or under consultation/notice of redundancy. The Programme also supports Employers who have to serve notice of redundancy and would like to support their employees back into work. This Programme is available in Staffordshire and Telford and Wrekin.

The Programme for the Unemployed is for adults (18+) who are on JSA and ESA and live in the Stafford, Cannock and Rugeley Areas. This programme is for individuals who are actively seeking work and require support.

The Pathway Programmes are for adults (19+) who are claiming benefits and live in the Stafford, Cannock and Rugeley Areas. These Programmes are for individuals who want to obtain an apprenticeship or employment and need to improve their skills and gain work experience to allow them to achieve this goal.
