Course NameCACHE Foundation Award in Caring for Children (Level 1)
Course DescriptionIt is designed by the Council for Awards in Child Care and Education (CACHE), the leading provider of qualifications in Child Care and Education. It provides the underpinning knowledge and practical training for those wishing to work with children and families in a wide variety of settings.

Course Content
The course is offered on a modular basis and is made up of a ‘core’ consisting of seven units plus the opportunity to undertake additional ‘College Certificates’ in further supportive skills e.g. First Aid. You will also undertake a short period in a work placement.

Entry RequirementsMinimum grade E in English. Prospective students will be interviewed to assess their suitability for the course. A personal reference from a school teacher or employer will be required.
AssessmentContinuous assessment, tutor reports and short question paper.
Course ProgressionProgression to a Level 2 child care course (Distinction level). Careers in child care settings at a supervised level.
