Website accessibility making the site easier to use
Modern browsers have inbuilt features to allow you to change and personalise the look of web sites. Below are some instructions for changing the look of web sites.
Font Size
Go to menu view/text size and select a size. Alternatively if using Internet Explorer 7, press Ctrl and use your mouse wheel to change the text size.
Page Style
Go to menu Tools/Internet Options/Accessibility. Tick the formatting boxes. Ignore colours specified on web pages, ignore font style specified on web pages, ignore font sizes specified on web page.
Firefox
Font Size
Go to menu view/text size and select increase or decrease. Alternatively, press Ctrl and use your mouse wheel to change the text size.
Page Style
Go to menu View/Page Style. Select from a list of drop down options or choose no style to view a website in its plainest form.
Standards compliance
The Site is built using XHTML and CSS, according to W3C (World Wide Web Consortium) standards. It is designed to comply with our own accessibility standards, in line with recognised best practice, such as the W3C Web Content Accessibility Guidelines and PAS 78 (British Standards Institute guidance on website accessibility).
